About the faculty
The Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies is one of nine faculties of the Technical University of Kosice, which is one of the leading higher education institutions in the Slovak Republic. The Faculty consists of eight departments and three institutes. The Faculty is the initiator of many national and international projects in which the students are actively involved. Its significant success has been achieved e.g. in the ARRA evaluation (5th place) as well as by obtaining the prestigious award in 2015 “Person of the Year in Technology”. In previous years the faculty and its members have been given several major awards including “Student of the Year in Slovakia” and “Samuel Mikovini Award” awarded by the Ministry of Education.
The Faculty educates graduates who are fully prepared for the future employment as evidenced by their 99.09% success to pursue career. The students of the faculty are offered to complete a part of their studies abroad via the international projects Erasmus, National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic (NSP) and CEEPUS in which the faculty is actively involved and also by means of bilateral arrangements between the faculty and the universities or their faculties abroad. The Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies of the Technical University of Košice based in Prešov makes effort to prepare its students for the best possible industry conditions, and therefore it is actively involved in the national project called “Universities as Engines of the Knowledge Society Development”. As part of the project, modern teaching centres have been established for the faculty, and the faculty libraries obtained new book titles of national and foreign literature in order to improve the quality of educational process. The Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies has been placed second among 143 faculties in Slovakia in terms of the viability and relevance of study programs to the needs of practical implementation. Currently the faculty is starting cooperation in SPICE (Students Programme of Integrated Education Company), a joint project of the Association of Automotive Industry of the Slovak Republic and the National Development Project AZU.sk.
