Tuition fee for part-time bachelor study is set at €500 per academic year. Tuition fee for part-time engineer study is set at €600 per academic year.
About the faculty
At the time of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Metallurgy, now the Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling, the faculty had already trained more than 4,600 engineers, of which 110 were foreign, namely from Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Yemen, Jordan, Korea, Cuba, Laos, Madagascar, Mongolia, Nigeria, Peru, Syria, Vietnam and Libya.
For the Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling, the main priorities were, are and will be expertise, connectedness to practice, applicability and a family atmosphere. Another priority of FMMR is to arouse the interest of young people and show them the way of the future in a modern world surrounded by digitization and green technologies. Last but not least, further self-education of FMMR teachers is also important, so that they will be ready to respond to the needs of tomorrow.
The world needs metals, materials and technologies. There are several reasons to study at FMMR. The faculty cooperates with important companies from the industry, students of the faculty study in top laboratories and have the opportunity to study and work abroad. Cooperation with companies already during studies is also a benefit for university students. FMMR focuses its research and education on the needs of practice and the requirements of companies. The faculty focuses on forming the chemical nature, structure and final properties of materials, their production and processing by metallurgical processes and their reverse recycling.
Thanks to the efforts and inventions of all scientific and pedagogical workers and employees, the Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling has become a reliable part of the Technical University in Košice and a leading scientific-research and educational institution focused on metallurgy and material technologies, surpassing the scope of Slovakia and Central Europe with its importance and results.
